I prefer the feeling of expecting a drumming to being expected to win as we always struggle with teams lower than us

Can't see anything but a loss today. Result against Wimbledon will be a hard one to bounce back from. Hope I'm wrong and the lads pull it together and bring back a point, or 3.
Up the Gas!!!

Never know - Fleetwood have an off day..... flukey goal... dodgy penalty..... backs to the wall for the rest of the match - could happen. Miracles can happen!!

Wimbledon may have been dire second half, but if the disallowed goal had stood the whole game would have been different, and no doubt more positivity - about time we had a decent referee or at least a consistent one

The general consensus on here pre GC's departure was that we were over achieving and that probably wouldn't last. Now it seems that we would have won on Boxing Day & have no chance today because he has left ? There's absolutely no reason we can't get a result today but no doubt if we don't it will all be down to the new manager despite us 'not being good enough to stay in the play offs' a few days ago. You really couldn't make it up let me change your head and see if your body acts differently even with the same messages being sent. Think about it... I get where you're coming from but we really weren't any worse against Wimbledon than we have been in other games notably Bolton & first half Southend. I understand that some people are sceptical about the new manager and that's fine however I don't see that a poor 2nd half performance in his first game in charge proves that he was the wrong appointment nor that we shouldn't bother to turn up today as the result is a foregone conclusion. Personally I like the fact we've appointed a young manager with everything to prove, it might not work out but there were no guarantees whichever way we went

We've beaten Ipswich away and not yet lost to any of the sides in the top 8. We shouldn't fear anyone in this league. Battling 2-1 away win.

If the issue is that Ben Garner can't motivate the team in a way consistent with Coughlan's approach then we really should have brought Holloway in instead, but only time will tell. Given that we've taken the Garner route rather than the Holloway one at this cross roads we need to back the decision. I do think it's a hard act for anyone to follow given we were fourth in the league, although some of the football we endured under Coughlan was awful.
However if things do take a turn for the worse (as so many peoples' crystal balls seem to now suggest) then I think the blame should be apportioned as follows:
1 Coughlan for walking out on everyone;
2 the board for failing to maintain / retain the relationship with Coughlan, and then possibly for the Garner appointment;
3 (and only after a fair period of time) Garner, if he proves ineffective.
Therefore I hope people aren't going to direct their disappointment at Garner as it largely won't be down to him, and, it won't achieve anything!

Hargreaves in for Nichols, one up top then, or Sercs at No 10 behind JCH which never seems to have worked in the past?

Hargreaves has talent but the last few times I’ve seen him, he’s not looked like he’s ready for first team football just yet.

Can be a passenger too much sometimes too, no end product.
