I don’t know whether it is his attempt at being funny but our manager is just down right disrespectful when speaking about players outside of the starting 11. He saps all good feeling I have about Bristol Rovers that I have at the moment. Not disrespectful at all. Just pointing out we are very short on experience and we can't rely on these youngsters to get us promo tion. Can't remember the last incumbent having to fill the bench with young lads or even being prepared to give them a chance. I can see both sides but certainly you (Bideford gas) are much closer to the truth. I'll add one thing though. DC rarely had injuries to deal with, which helped the bench situation so I feel that's a slightly unnecessary dig. After years and years of regular serious injuries (I seem to remember ACL's every few month!) DC's tenure was a fantastic change to fit, reliable and hungry players. Maybe the backroom staff were better as well? Hard to know but certainly not totally 'luck' I would suggest.

Brilliant stuff, fantastic result.
Can't wait for next Saturday let's turn up in numbers and give GC and the lads the support they deserve

So you'd rather we ditched the manager who's go us to fifth? I'm not going to pretend I've always liked Coughlan and I wanted him gone after the Coventry game but results don't lie. In short yes. In the medium term my gut feel is that we’d do better and be more united without him Really?? 🤯 Who would be more united? The fans? I presume you cannot mean the players as surely one of the most obvious attributes he has brought is exactly that togetherness and the ability to give all players a decent chance, something that DC struggled with towards the end. One of the only ways to get an 'average' squad to perform towards the top of the lge is by team work, simple systems, a happy dressing room and by collectively and individually playing to their strengths.

What is GC talking about in his interview?

Coughlan - "Got to go home with my wife and kids and consider my future this evening, not sure how far I can take this club".
Sounds to me like Coughlan is pushing the board for backing in January at best.

Sounds like he's got a lucrative job offer. Not surprised.

Very very impressive result He said through gritted teeth. Just kidding. Coughlan and his approach are very hard for me to love, but results speak for themselves. I say hard to love, but we seem to be going for it lately, and the negative stuff so far this season seems to have been sidelined. Perhaps GC knows how confident his boys are and thinks it's time to let loose a bit.

Surely the Mem should be packed for a top of the league clash next Saturday with the Posh (and again Boxing Day). Hope to witness a cracking Gas win and the best atmosphere yet this season!!

Get in!!!! Still staying away because it's not entertaining football under GC? 4th, game in hand. Have a load of that. Great result, well done lads, safe journey home everyone. We're third actually, because Peterborough beat Bolton and that doesn't count.

I just haven't found it particularly enjoyable to watch.

What a week first of all we had Boris with a landslide victory and then Tom scores our winner , then the 82ers loose can’t get much better Give it a rest it's a football forum. If you want to spout politics go to the election thread in general chat.
