We wont have anymore humiliating defeats that was a Clarke ( I don't care about the Cups) attitude. GC will want to win the league and the cup, so Walsall would be an ideal draw Yawn

I’d like any Non league outfit the majority of us have never heard of, away from home. Re- live the conference days ?

Hate to break it to you, but Barnet isn't in Italy. Sorry, I got Barnet and Bari muddled up. No need to apologise; it's easily done.

Myself personally if I had the choice I would prefer a bye (Bury removal) pick up a £36k 1st rd winner freebie and pick up the rewards from round 2

1st round draw is live on BBC2 7pm on Monday.
Who we gonna get knocked out by this year?
Kings Lynn town sound pretty sh**e. I reckon they’ll knock us out this year. Second best team in Bristol versus second best team in Norfolk. Looks pretty even stevens to me …

I'd like either Chippenham, Weymouth or Dulwich Hamlet.

The team with the bye seems to have won the lottery.
Too late now but why couldn't a team in the qualifiers get a bye and the Bury prize money shared around non league first round losers?
This would get more magic of the FA cup to local community clubs.
What are the odds of Ipswich or Sunderland getting the bye?

Anyone who knows the Derbyshire/Notts area like I do will find the Notts County v Belper Town fixture of interest. The Nailers [Belper] small town between Nottingham/Derby, bit like Keynsham, this has all the romance of the old FA cup fixtures.
Good luck Belper

But none of us are going to gain from that "personally" that'll just go towards paying down a small part our annual £2m+ losses, meanwhile we have to suffer another football free weekend.

This would get more magic of the FA cup to local community clubs. What are the odds of Ipswich or Sunderland getting the bye? I don’t think the team that gets the bye has won the lottery. Whilst I can see what you mean they will lose any attendance money. For example, if it were us at home, say we got 6000 crowd even at reduced prices (and reduced prices might not happen) of £15.00 that would be total income on the day of £90,000 which is split, I think 3 ways, the home club, the away club and the FA. So we could lose one third, £30,000. And if we are still playing well the gate could be higher, and the club could charge normal rates increasing the match day income and so we could lose even more. And if it was Ipswich or Sunderland then they are in danger of losing even more match day income. I agree that a team from the qualifying round could get a place. I would prefer that all the losers were put into a hat and one drawn out to replace Bury so the competition keeps as much integrity as possible. Istr a loser from a round 2 did get a place in the next round in a previous year so there is a precedent. I think it was the year Man U decided not to enter it but I may be wrong. Probably all conjecture for us and we’ll be drawn away at somewhere involving a long journey and small crowd.
