A 10 page thread on a young unknown player that some could argue we don't really need with Kilgour and Meyanese on the books. Kilgour is highly rated by GC - IMO I would much rather use any potential wages and cost of employment for this player towards the wages (maybe an extra £1k a week or so) in attracting a player we really need to the club. I think none of us on this forum know the true ability of LS, we do not appear weak in central defence so if our manager brings him to the club then it must be because he is regarded a big talent that will adapt pretty quickly and improve the starting eleven.

I think we’re equally at last seasons level, but with another year of development forKilgour & Rollin. I reckon this will be Kilgours break through season

If Scales signs then does anyone think it's likely that either Rollin Menayese or Alfie Kilgour go out on loan for some regular first team football?

We've lost Lockyer and replaced him with Davies who whilst talented, has played less than 30 games at league one level.

GC hinted a Left-Footed player would be signing, could it be Scales? He said ‘dip in the market for a left footer for balance’ or something along those lines...

bluebutterfly, Unlike DC who would blame the Board and then not prepare for the fight! At least dc would dust himself down after barton beat him up .

He spoke about the missing left footed striker (JCH), left back (THD) and winger/attacking midfielder (Matthews) when he said "dip into the market for a left footer for balance" or whatever. Scales is a left footed centre back. Edit: Let's push the boat out for someone like Callum Gribbin. A quality left footer that can play wide or centrally. Potential to make us money in the future too.

His former club and his agent say that he has Was that not the article that said we were going to Ireland last week and not this week?? Plus in the same article it said we had signed him and then it also said the manager said, he has not made his mind up yet. After that GC said he was interested, but we hadn't made an offer at that stage.

Signing imminent. Scales? I'd be surprised if it wasn't? Although it might be another goalie with the way he can spin a ball on his thumb!

He says about coming over to Dublin which makes me think it’s not Scales as he would already be over there. Lavery is my guess.

Wonder if that puts the Scales deal in doubt? Possible overload of defenders?
Leahy is a good player though. On paper, another good signing.

I think a lot on here are under estimating the impact Lockyer leaving will have. A huge loss IMO, I fear if we prove weaker in defence this year and no sign of any goal scorers or creativity coming it could be a long hard season😟
