She still shouts “ Billy Bodin ! “ every time I say I’m going to watch the Gas . I haven’t got the heart to tell her.

first 45 got to be best at home this season by some margin, great move for first goal, cracking finish for second and in the right place to pick up the rebound for the third!proper center forward at last! think early goal made all the difference today, we took foot off gas for last 20 and allowed them to play and we were waste full in that period to as we created several real opportunities to score the fourth with breakaways ,did not think Blackpool were woeful, just erratic, they created several good opportunities to score and wasted them, were quite creative but also guilty of making terrible errors, at last a home performance to savor!3 stand out players today ,the hatrick hero ,Tom and THD ,that front two looked more than promising, the negatives if there are any today would be Ollie and Parts both well below whats required IMO.Shame we din't climb the table as performance merited but carry on in this light and we will be fine ,just stay calm every one, enjoy the ups and downs of our journey to safety now on to Tuesday,i know its a match that divides opinion but Gas heads we are all fans of Bristol Rovers and as such lets get behind the club for this one and the rest of the season, i think we owe it to the players to help them achieve what they have prob dreamed of since starting out ' playing in a final at Wembley' may be the only chance some of them get, and it would be a huge boost to moral as we fight to retain 3 tier football, if nothing else last Saturday proved Sunderland are no great shakes and are beatable so lets have a rocking Mem on Tuesday night !!up the Rovers!!

Must admit before ko I was wondering where the creativity was in that team but that was as good as we've been at home all season. Created plenty but still had to defend well at times Blackpool certainly looked a threat. Every player played their part today JCH will obviously grab the headlines but don't think anyone was below par. Shame it hasn't moved us out of bottom 4 but if we can replicate that performance over the last few games we'll be fine.

If I'd not already bought a ticket for today I wouldn't have gone after the shocking display v Sunderland - glad I did now!
Locks and Craig excellent at the back and THD was as impressive as we've come to expect since he overcame his injury - oozes quality. The midfield three were really solid although Clarke was a bit sloppy with his passing at times. JCH was excellent and rightly got mom but Nichols ran him close. Sercs was also back to the player we know he can be.
A lot has been said about formations, lack of width, poor recruitment etc but what today showed was that when playing to our potential combined with good attitude and work rate we are plenty good enough for this division.

JCH and Nichols.....the new Smash and Grab? JCH does the smash and grab all by himself! Unfair. Nichols was quality today and has been at least a 6/10 all season and created more goals than anyone.

Got it right again today! Happy to be wrong in the score for the rest of the season, as long as the boys keep doubling my prediction! One of the best first halves this season! JCH and TN looked really good together and with TN on the left it allows Sercs to play more through the middle. One of his best games since his injury. Only player who didn't perform was Parts (again). THD was again class on the left. Brilliant performance, boys!! I thought Parts played well!

I expect I will be haranged for this but I really want TN and JCH to be our first choice two up front barring injury or suspension for the rest of the season, as for the formation behind...just make it work is all I will say.

What an excellent result and performance. JCH will get all the headlines and rightly so for his hat-trick and all round display, but everyone played their part today and all the lads can be pleased with how they performed. The second goal epitomised that and what an excellently worked goal it was.
Coughlan rightly said it is only one game, but this is the type of result/performance to gain confidence from and hopefully we can carry this forward now into our next game.
Credit to the manager, I said in recent days I hope he shake things up a bit, not be so stubborn with his tactics and selections and send a team out to attack...and he certainly did that can we can all see the end result.
Well done Cogs and the players. Onwards and upwards now...
UTG!!!

First half excellent, second we Could have conceded several goals. Parts was the weak link in the team. What I liked about the first half was how we pressured them and the overall tempo and movement all round. You would have thought we were a team pushing for the play-offs. If we can replicate that for most of the remaining games we can survive. A couple of tough away matches against teams we really need to get results against. Four points in those games are needed.

He was excellent today, in and around all our great attacking play, looked comfortable on the ball and unlucky not to get a goal himself. My point was rather how good JCH was today as he provided the physicality up top but also managed to get in the areas to finish our chances.

Partington comes in has a good game, gets dropped, gets brought back in, gets dropped etc. Give him a run of games to get back to top form and he will come good for us. Granted a couple of times crosses came in from his side but generally he was solid and part of a very good defensive display.

It seems as though everyone has forgotten about ogogo in the middle of the park. I thought it was his best game in a Rovers shirt, he was everywhere, breaking up play, harassing their players at every opportunity, I won't take it away from any of the other players, top class everywhere but he does the not so nice parts of the game, very well today. JCH definitely MOTM but there were a few others that ran him very close. UTG

Yes, it was a good all-round display, Bonham looking solid between the sticks, Locks and Craig looking also looking fairly solid, and Sercs having his best game this season at the Mem.
It will be interesting to see if we can take that form into Tuesday game as if Sunderland rest a few 1st teamers they'll do well to get a result. Win that game and it then sets us up nicely for the two consecutive away games.

Roy Keane would have been proud of the challenge that earned him a yellow. I always think he'll get sent off once he's booked though. There's been at least one game this season he was subbed to prevent him being sent off. Can't remember which one. That's the problem with watching games at 2am.

Funnily enough, we performed far better without any natural width, which is something we have always bemoaned. Because we had no natural wide players, the 4 central mids owned the midfield area, something we have mostly failed to do. We generally won the second ball and those midfielders moved around to provide the out Ets and passing opportunities. That meant the forwards weren't isolated and were getting good service.
Locks was superb against a very quick, skilful opponent, the bloke with the white hair. He had no chance against him in the air, but he kept him tight on the ground and showed excellent defensive qualities. THD is class. Full marks to DC for taking the chance, or did Coggs the defensive coach get him?
