Bonham 6
Partington 4 Bad game for JP.
Lockyer 7 I enjoy watching Lockyer playing now. He's developed a dirty streak to his game in the last year and it's great.
Craig 6 Fine
Holmes-Dennis 7 Starting to get a run of games which is going to be crucial for the end of the season
Rodman 7.5 MOTM.
Lines 3 Great for the first 2 minutes and finally hit a decent set piece for the goal. One worthwhile set piece a season isn't good enough though and he should be kept away from any and all dead balls. He was looking past it last season but this year is the final nail, people moan about Sinclair going sideways and backwards, and yet Lines at times makes him seem like Hazard, instead of those dynamic runs and exciting passes he used to play he's devolved into a crab like player. Trying fancy flicks when deep in your own half might impress some, but it drives me absolutely bananas. Thanks for the memories over the years Linesy.
Ogogo 6 We've been crying out for a defensive midfielder all season and by god have we got one. He's the right level of dirty to finally add some much missing bite to our midfield. Once Ollie Clarke is back from suspension then we might finally have a midfield sturdier than wet paper.
Sercombe 6 Definitely looked good in the 3 man midfield but playing wide left is a waste of his abilities. Last year he would've taken at least one of the chances he got yesterday.
Reilly 4 Genuinely had forgotten he was on the pitch when he got subbed.
Nichols 5 Bullied by their CB, but even when he was winning the flick ons, nobody was getting forward enough to get anywhere near them
Subs: Jakubiak 5 I don't know what Jakubiak is. I think he was hidden by the fact that he came on alongside JCH who had a more obvious impact.
Clarke-Harris 7 A big bruising striker. Hallelujah. After watching our strikers be bullied in the first half, it was good to see someone come on who could do the same back to them. Impressed by what we saw yesterday.
J. Clarke 4 That was the worst performance I've seen from James Clarke in a while which was a shame because he's been one of our more consistent players this season. I don't know if it was the switch to playing CB that threw him, but he couldn't seem to get going like normal. Then when he did get forward, his passing and runs were instantly snuffed out normally due to a mistake on his end.
Crowd 7 The referee being rubbish always gets a crowd going, but the fact that I heard a few songs I've not heard at the mem in the couple seasons pleased me. I'll give myself a 1 rating however because I accidentally called Lockyer, Nichols yesterday. Too many Tom's and too many Clarke's in my mind now.
Ref 2 In a game that could've ended 8 v 10 with at least a penalty at either end, we somehow ended up at a game of 11v10 with no penalties. Looked out of his depth.
Shrewsbury 6 Graham called it in the preview interview. They're a side that likes to press high and are dangerous from set pieces. Came for a point and almost ended up taking all 3. We let ourselves get bullied by them for the first 20 minutes and then once the ref had lost control of the game, we seemed to be scared to put in a tackle which led to them scoring. 2nd half we switched to playing like Shrewsbury and that seemed to unsettle them. Got the goal and a deserved point.
All in all a dirty game but the sort of game you should probably expect when it's two teams fighting for their lives. My concern is how deep does the fight go in our team?
