Four seasons since the last time we weren't binned out of this competition in the first round or by some embarrassingly low down non-league side. An unenviable record. We do much better in the League Cup but personally I'd love to see us break this duck on Sunday.
Since pipping us to the conference title, Barnet have experienced a very different three seasons then us and have since returned to non-league where they sit in 12th place in something called the national league. In our recent League Two season together we ran out 3-1 winners at the Mem in August but the Bees edged out a 1-0 win with 10 men at theirs in December.
I'd keep the same squad that beat Blackpool so convincingly. We need the consistency and can afford to rest people on Tuesday when we play Exeter in the loser dipshit nerd trophy. However I'm sure that won't happen under DC!
2-1 Rovers win I think. I've been avoiding calling this but I think Nichols will notch his first in the next two games. He's been playing better and there'll be no better opportunity. Safe travels to anyone else going.

Yes, it’s a pretty awful recent record in the cup but we did win the first round match against Crawley two years ago. Perhaps it would have been better if we’d lost because we lost to Barrow in the second round a few weeks later at the Mem. I think we’ll win at Barnet as well, it would be good to make the third round for the anticipation of a big third round match, some extra money and the good feeling to be got out of a good run. UTG!

Difficult to predict this especially as we don't know if Brentford will let Superjack play. My guess is they won't which may cost us the game, but I think we look more like scoring in recent games not just at Blackpool so..... 0-2 with him 1-2 without him.

Christ I'd completely forgotten about the Barrow game. I'm too hung up on the Chesham and Bath games. DC has a pretty sh** cup record.

Quietly confident of a decent result tomorrow. And a terrible away draw in the second round!

Taken from the Barnet forum.
"So..... Sunday sees the BBC respecting remembrance Sunday by scheduling fixtures at lunch time, including the bees Cup game against League 1 (sigh) Bristol Rovers.
With Rovers due to bring 100,000 supporters it is a mystery how the Hive will cope with the hordes of people flocking to Harrow. I can only think that Tony is thinking of erecting a giant screen on the training pitch for those unlucky enough not to get in."

Their average this year is just over a thousand, massive lol! 🤪 I just hope we wipe the floor with them.

Hard to get any enthusiasm for this game given our record especially against lower opposition. Win would be great other than that I'd be happy if we get no bookings, no injuries and no replay.

Gulp - he's at Barnet now, although he doesn't seem to have featured in recent matches. I see that Barnet have signed a new striker yesterday, and he's available for tomorrow - the rules must be different in non-league.
