Both clubs have had amazing journeys since 2006-07, when we were promoted to L1 and they were promoted to the Championship.
We went down to the Conference, they got into the Premier League (who was the manager who did THAT!?), we shot back up twice, they dipped below us down to L2, and here we are back again on level terms.
Our lows were probabaly comparable to their highs in disbelief, and at least we don't have the huge debts they accumulated from that venture into the outer reaches of the football galaxy.
They are no better off for it, apart from some improvements to the stadium, but it must have been great when it was good and terrible as it all fell apart.
If I had to choose between the two journeys, I'd go for theirs.

Other similarities include not being happy with their owners

Could have just said Blackpool 1 Rovers 0. I could, but I didn't, and there is not a lot you can do about it. Are you Philip Green in disguise? Are you midlandGas in disguise?

Other similarities include not being happy with their owners Tbf 99% of their fans aren't happy with their owners, I'd doubt its nowhere near that here. I suspect at every club you will have fans who aren't happy with the owners.

Expecting a really tough game and a low scoring one at that. I would take a draw now, but think they will edge it 1-0. Hopefully I'm wrong. They have got two players I would love in our side - Ben Heneghan and Jay Spearing. Both class acts.

Blackpool have only lost one at home , we have only one win on the road. I will have to go 2:1 Home win. I will happily accept a nil nil, but we have to start taking maximum points from some of our home games or we are down. We are currently tracking to finish on 41 points with 32 goals. We fell into the Confrence with 50 points and 43 goals.

Plus only 2 go down to the Conference not 4 sides, and usually one Div 2 side is already looking down by December/January.
We have to at least avoid defeat today with Barnet, Charlton & Sunderland up next away. Hopefully Payne, if he starts, wants to prove a point today.

If we haven’t started scoring come January we simply have to buy some goals. I looked to see who scored in the relegation season. The Gypo got 13 from midfield, Harrold 6, Clarkson 6, Mohamed 4, the rest were rats & mice. This season just rats and mice no one with more than 2. Two positives standing out at the moment 1. Defensively (goals against) we are very good, scoring a few more goals will mean more points. 2. There are probably another 6 teams that are as poor as us so far, we just need to finish above 4 of them.

Can’t see anything other than the score line finishing Bristol Rovers nil. Come on let’s be positive, a couple of gas goals today! The law of averages surely means we’ll score today doesn’t it? 😂 I haven’t started on the Stella yet but I’m going to say that Nichols will score today. UTG COYB!

I know we don’t really class Blackpool as a big team, we’ve almost forgotten that they were in the premier league only a few years ago! But our record away to ex premier league teams in the league (post 2000) is dreadful. Must have played at least 20 odd games since our last win against an ex premiership team (2009 at Southampton) and apart from a few draws the rest have been defeats!
