I'll be there if my lift turns up in the morning.
My last away game was Northampton 6-0 so hopefully I have the same effect on the result tomorrow, although not likely given our current profligacy in front of goal...

Just a half hour drive for me. Despite that, I was still in two minds about going as I have not enjoyed many away games for a while. However, I have my ticket at the ground so mind made up. I am going to see Nichols score, of that I am certain.

Burton 1-0 Rovers (Boyce).
Hope I'm wrong about the result and we can sneak a win. Safe trip to all those making the journey.
Edit: Changed my mind. Fancy a 1-1 (Cole, Sercs). Also, Boyce is on international duty with Northern Ireland, so that is a boost.

I hope we play Jak up front
He’s proven in limited play time he knows where the net is
If Payne is fit and ready DC needs to trust a partnership and give them a run together
I agree Sercombe must play in the middle, I imagine on form with Clarke
Rodman and Mathews either side
It’s not natural width but it has goals
At the back it’s Locks and Craig at the back if fit and Kelly and Parts at full back
I’m never right but ultimately we need to start winning whoever plays, 2 wins in 12 suggests we are scrapping for league one status this season, we have the players, they just need to form some partnerships and I’m sure we will be fine
I predict 1-3
Jak (2) and Sercs

How many managers would refuse to play a guy who has some goal scoring form, however weak, given the situation we are in? There aren't many and it would smack of rank stubbornness. Mind you it is a total new thread in itself that we find ourselves looking at a guy with a couple of johnstone paint goals as our in-form striker :/

No point in being manager if he is going to pick your team or anybody elses team is there?

Even so, I believe we have enough talent here, to finish round about midtable. I think that Clarke`s never ending chopping and changing the side, ( especially the defence ) is more of a threat to our League One status, than the board`s unwillingness to give him more money to spend on new players.

..but surely he has to pick the only striker currently doing what is he paid to do.
For all Nichols nice neat touches what else does he contribute?
Its absolutely mindblowing how he has played so many games and scored so little goals. Some say the service isn't good - Maybe so but Harrison got a move to the Championship with the same service.

Jakubiak up front with sercombe playing as number 10 role please DC . Bennet on the right and Mathews on the left with lines and Clarke holding/ pkaymaking midfielders. Get it out wide and spread the play and bloody attack them that’s how DC has had success and can have more. I’m sick of watching narrow one dimensional football.

But another poster is saying play Sercombe at No 10 today even though I can't even recall him ever playing in that position for us! On current form our best forward line up seems to be Matthews Rodman Bennett or Reilly AJ If they can't score today we may as well give up trying in away games!

Why is it "mind blowing" we've paid £350K for a striker if we can somehow get him to score goals then it's not just dead money.

The majority of sercombes goals for us have come from around the edge of the box which is number 10 territory. He’s wasted further back and doesn’t link so well with lines so if lines is a deep laying playmaker then got to keep Sercs right up there I reckon.

He`ll play Sercombe out on the left for two games, then central midfield for the next, then drop him for the fourth. How does that help anybody? Except possibly the opposition.

Read my post properly I said its mind blowing how he has scored so little goals with so many appearances.
I haven't checked any stats but I'd imagine you'd be hard pushed to find a striker at this level with a worse goal/appearance ratio.
"somehow get him to score"? how are we going to do that then he has had over a full season and no sign of any improvement.

Met an ex Swansea pro last week in Ibiza who when I mentioned the Gas,said immediately that Bannister and Warboys were the players he remembered from his playing days.
