After the second shot into the water I would have just thrown the bloody ball...either that, or a previously unknown war wound would have flared up in my back, so instead of humiliation I would receive sympathy...complete with hugs and kisses and comments like, "brave chap. He played on despite the pain until he was nearly crippled!".

Worst thing is that after missing the cut he has to hang around until Sunday evening to hand the new champion his Alan Partridge blazer.

Bubba just put a putt into the bunker. Never seen that before. My Dad managed it on the 8th at Mangotsfield many years ago. Trouble is he'd just taken 4 or 5 shots to get out the same bunker and then putted it straight back in. Very embarrassing with the group behind stood on the tee watching! |

He was trying to putt around the edge of the bunker to carry the ball to the pin, using the slope. Got too close to the edge and the ball slipped in to the sand. |

Got too close to the edge and the ball slipped in to the sand. Got too greedy trying to play the perfect shot. A bit more conservative and he'd have still had a relatively short putt for birdie. I guess when you are that far off the lead you have to take gambles. |

Looked as though Casey was on for a great score but bogeyed 17 & 18. |

Never really thought of it but there must be plenty of golfers at the Mem. Would be good to take on the other lot, like the fishing competition. For the Cyder Cup maybe
