Slocombe 7.5. Great reaction save and overall very good
Partington 7.5. Other than his usually high standard of crossing he had an excellent game. Won every header and tackle. Got forwarded at every opportunity. Lockyer 7. Distribution not as good as usual but otherwise decent. Craig 7.5. Composed. Comfortable and seems to be creating a good understanding with Locks. Bola 5.5. I thought he had a poor game. Looked leggy and let his man get the better of him several times.
Mensah 5. Awful. Nothing stuck. Was dominated by his marker. Lines 7. His penalty redeemed his mistake for the goal. His corners second half were poor as well. I think the pitch must have something to do with this as he and Parts suffered today and they’re our best crossers. O. Clarke 6.5. Didn’t really get to involved in much. Bennett 8. Agree with most. Very busy never gave the defence a minutes peace. Set the goal up and won the soft penalty.
Nichols 5.5. If the ball hadn’t stuck between his feet first half and he’d got a shot away things might have been different for him. Harrison 6. Poor display from him. We can forgive him one though from a very good season.
Subs: Moore 7.5. Was everything Mensah wasn’t. Controlled every pass to him and opened out the game. Great substitute. Telford 7.5. Buzzed all over the place and great finish for his goal. Must start on Monday.
Crowd 6.5. Quite for a large crowd Ref 7. Thanks for the penalty Bury 6. Huffed and puffed. Were lacking when their big lad at the back went off.

Slocombe 8 - great save and safe handling crosses Parts 6 - defended ok but poor passing Bola 5 dodgey defending poor passing Craig 7 - solid links well with Locks Locks 7 - solid links well with Craig
Lines 7 cool pen passed well but mistake for goal Clarke 6 different to last season still injured ? Bennet 9 different class MOM has softened blow of losing Billy Mensah 5.5 rough diamond perhaps ? We’ll see
Ellis 7 worked hard, hit crossbar not as many headers as usual. Nichols 6 best I’ve seen from him but not great needs to score
Telford 8 fast ! determined ! fightey ! scored ! needs to start !
Bury 6 determined, but poor.

My own opinions of the game:
Slocombe 7 One good save in the first half and got the ball out quickly
Partington 7 An odd game as his general play was good but his crossing was abysmal Lockyer 7 Showed no signs of jet-lag, a usual performance Craig 7.5 Looking back, he wasn't too involved but I can think of anything he did wrong all game Bola 5.5 Got caught a couple of times including for the goal
Mensah 6 Looked bright in patches but forced off the ball too easily Lines 6.5 Poor for the goal, but took the penalty well. O. Clarke 7 Got better as the game went on. Started forcing the play more as we searched for the winner. Bennett 8.5 Our most inventive player
Nichols 6 Played fairly well but still no goal Harrison 6.5 Wasn't as involved as he has been but worked hard
Subs: Moore 6.5 Continued his improved per Telford 7 Took his goal well which is what matters
Crowd 4 Flat Ref 7.5 A couple of weird throw-in decisions early on, but overall did well Bury 5 Not as bad as you'd assume from their league position
