I see that the rugby club have a local derby against Gloucester tomorrow at 3pm. I assume all their Saturday fixtures will clash with our home games. Do you think this has been having an effect on our attendances as well as the other issues ? I know plenty of our supporters also support the rugby club and given our state at the moment maybe they’re opting for Trashton.

In answer to your question no. There are always a few of their supporters in the Wellie when they are playing Saturday afternoon and there is always a long queue at the bus stop opposite going to Ashton gate. You have to remember Horfield was a heartland of their support base for obvious reasons.

Well it can't help, can it?
Some dismiss it, but there must be a lot of Bristol Rugby and BRFC supporters.
Sad to say they probably offer a better afternoon's entertainment than we do nowadays.
And I wouldn't condemn anyone for going to Trashton. It's not as if they are watching the non-Premier league side who share their stadium.

I genuinely don’t care about Bristol (City) Franchise Rugby Bears united or whatever they call themselves, I’d rather support Bath than them, Rugby leagues are sh** in this country, wtf is the point of winning the league only to go in the playoffs, and not go up, or lose to a team in the final that then get told after they can’t be promoted because their ground isn’t up to scratch but Bristol can’t go up either, I personally will not go to AG for anything anymore, it’s living proof that dispite Logic telling us the opposite, You really CAN polish a turd!!! UTG!!!!

The OP makes a good point. Not everyone is narrow minded and floating sports fans may elect to see this derby.

Anybody come up with the old Lansdown is behind it conspiracy yet? As much as I love a good old lansdown conspiracy (still he refuses to take a lie dectector as to where he exactly was during 9/11), last season the bears played 9 home games during a Saturday afternoon kick off, this season only 5 are scheduled.

Yes but you know how this forum likes to pin the woes of BRFC on Ole Rosy Face.

Well maybe if he spent a little less time at Denver airport we wouldn’t have to worry about him plotting the downfall of the Rovers!
