I truly hope that when this shower of sh1t F##k off, the new owners sign DC as soon as they can Thought you implied the Yanks would soon be getting their cheque books out, so shouldn’t be too long surely?

Nice from op. I would have emailed: DC we love you. We hope you love us. We entrust our most precious in your service, but why are we where we are now? I am confused. 1) why do we continue to play a loan signing goalkeeper when you publicly state neither of our first two are preferred? 2) why wasn't our left back/left wing back option replaced as a priority the minute Lee Brown opted to leave our beloved club? 3) why do you consistently play a striker you chose to sign that hasn't scored a league goal for over a year? 3a) why do you play the same player in a formation up front on his own, and explain it after...?...then admit it's stupid (v Accrington) and continue to do so? 4) why play a player who sometimes lacks form (Lockyer) and place him captain in a role where we as a crowd can't hear his leadership or by body language can't see it, when we lose initiative. 5) I've paid my way into this club. For years. I've given, time money and at times, blood. You've taken. You've taken our time. Our soul. Our friendship. Our minds and hearts. Thanks, as I wouldn't have it any other way. But ... If you cannot stand up and answer the previous 4 questions that the shameful media won't ask, you don't deserve to be anywhere near the entrustment of our club and can f off.. My loyalty is to the club, the shirt, not to anyone whom can't answer the fans. UptheGas. Wow. I usually like your posts but cannot believe I've read this. "Can't answer the fans". Have I just missed the irony? It has been a long day, to be fair.

Can’t believe how ott some of the love for DC is. Never known anything like it! I liked him but over the last year he’s managed to change my mind - he goes with fond memories but I was glad the board acted as it couldn’t continue. I really do hope the DC fans can back the club going forward, get over this quick, not be bitter and not bring him up every 5 minutes. I understand your point but this thread is about saying “thank you” to DC. Most on here are doing so. If you disagree then that’s your opinion but go on another thread and express your view, no problem. There are plenty of other threads you could choose from! If you don’t like what the vast majority are saying on this thread don’t read it, don’t engage with it do something else. And of course youve never known anything like it, we had never been in a situation like it in our history in 2014 and thanks to DC we were in it for the minimum amount of time. The very least he deserves is a unanimous vote of thanks. Why spoil a well deserved vote of thanks for a manager who did wonders for this club? Very petty and small minded. UTG!

Thanks DC - genuinely - for the highs you gave us after the historic lows. The tears after Mansfield will always be recalled by me - you cared for our rag bag club, and not many have over the years. You understood us and regardless of circumstances this season, your name will be chanted loud and proud when you turn at the Mem with your next club. 2x promotions to get us back to the third tier is an accomplishment that will never be forgotten.
Enjoy your Christmas. Then dust yourself down and enjoy Boxing Day too.

Have I just missed the irony? It has been a long day, to be fair. It's been a long week, to be fairer. And thanks for compliment, 1970. Please always feel free to disagree. I feel the points I've made are major in placing us where we are in the league today, ergo costing the manager his position. Many I spoke to were debating the points I've made for weeks and months. Our media department, or any other never ever ventured down that road once to ask simple questions regarding what conspired to put us where we are, save post the Accrington match where BBC were live from the stadium after the event and DC seemed to hold his hands up and admit playing Nichols up front alone was a mistake (this is before we had signed Payne). No apologies if you don't like my post, please pick it apart as you see fit, it's what forums are about. But to me and others it's a fundamental issue of mistakes made by DC and left us where we are now..

The position of the team is dire.
It is possible for fan power to drive out the manager.
Unless those fans have the monetary backing, they cannot get rid of the board!
Darrell Clarke is an honorable man. I hope he does well in the future. I definitely think he is one that is going to come back and bite us.....again and again and again. He is better and more honest and honorable as a manager than what we have as a club right now.
I believe that Wael does love the club BUT he obviously got his position through money that his family were prepared to write off at the time. However, it seems that they soon wanted to bail out when they realised they were not getting a return on their investment.

I have great respect for Darrell Clarke because of the way he matured during his time with Rovers and because of the foresight he showed in the early days when he said Rovers true position was 10th in League 1. It is incredible that he was so accurate in that forecast and managed to achieve that placing and I’m surprised it has not been commented on more. But he was also dead right when he highlighted the position Paul Trollope and Lennie Lawrence found themselves in and warned that we should not fall into the same trap again. But we did.
Most forumers know my opinion on the way Dwane Sports run Rovers and that my comments are usually about the business rather than the playing side. But I wanted to contact Darrell many months ago because I could see the frustration he was suffering and wanted to try to encourage him. My Mansfield connection is that I started my first business many years ago on Boughton Camp an old airfield near the town, used to drink at the Rufford Arms on Chesterfield Road, and was good friends with Jack Pratt the former Stags Chairman. I wanted to reassure Darrell that it is possible from very humble beginnings to compete with the big boys and to gain a measure of success even against the odds.
But I didn’t write because I knew in my heart that those words would ring hollow. He knew as well as I did that Rovers do not yet have the leadership to go out and fight and win against the odds. We don’t yet have the confidence or desire, as a business, to go out and fight like his early teams did and like anyone must if they want to achieve success. I hope Darrell manages to find himself a club which does.

I think it would be great if he went to Hartlepool and got them back in to the league, he has a lot of time for them

You presumably cannot separate, and then maybe stick back together, his attributes as: 1- a person 2 - a Gashead 3 - a manager who gave us 2 promotions and two safe and interesting seasons in Lge 1 (first for almost a decade) And 4 - some weaknesses and 6 months of pretty poor results. I can love him for the first 3, and also note that he could have done better with number 4.

When that that lot usually sack their managers, they usually leave with a load spit all over 'em....
